Happy Yuletide! I love the tropes I've listed, but feel free to ignore them and the prompts if you have your own idea. I'll be happy to read anything you come up with, including anything Christmas themed or leaning into seasonal winter stuff and holiday festivities. I love surprises. Thank you for writing for me!

Alien vs Predator (2004)
Alexa Woods, Scar

This is such a fun movie, and I love the unexpected partnership between these two. I wish he’d lived! I like how he seemed to respect her hunting with him, how they protected each other, and how she found the courage to fight the aliens despite being terrified. I love communication issues, how he explained ‘bomb’ to her, and would have loved to have seen them put the work in to understand each other better if they’d spent more time together. I’d love canon divergence where he lived, post-canon fic that’s either more horror/thriller or sci-fi/adventure if you have an idea in that direction. I’d also love humor since, scary stuff aside, there’s always room for that when there are cultural misunderstandings or struggles to understand or be understood between them personally. I’m totally up for Alexa/Scar, the how, the challenges, uncertainty, trust issues, angst. What does an Alexa/Scar get-together story look like? I don’t know, but I’d like to find out.

Note: The ‘hunting’ DNW is specific to animals. You could pack this fic with hunting aliens, and that would be totally fine.

Prompts:

• Alien attack in New York at Christmastime. Alexa and Scar + the felling of the Rockefeller Christmas tree by a spaceship. Decorations and destruction. People dying to Christmas carols. A holiday themed survival story.


• Canon Divergence — Scar lives and takes Alexa with him on the spaceship at the end of the movie. Where do they go? What is life like for her? Is she in constant danger from those that don’t accept her?


• I’m super into the mark he put on her. I can’t imagine the Predators not being territorial. How does that extend to their mates if he claims her as his?


• Scar leaves at the end of the movie but continues keeping track of Alexa/visiting Earth, but really, visiting her.


• Alexa is badly hurt during a future attack, and Scar goes to great lengths to save her.

The Boys in the Band (2020)
Michael, Donald

I loved the dynamic between these two and ship it, so Michael/Donald or gen is both fine. I loved how Michael spent the better part of the night being horrible to everyone and self-destructing and at the end of the night, Donald still stuck around and was there for him when Michael fell apart. I loved that Michael pushed him away and had a lot of issues he needed to confront and overcome. I loved the humor in their friendship and the angst of the problems with Michael’s issues and within the friends group. Exploring more of that angst or another night that goes wrong or a night that goes right would all be welcome.

Prompts:

• Any kind of Christmas fic: getting a tree, Christmas morning, holiday party, Donald walking Michael home after church, winter/coats/fireplace, Michael baking cookies instead of drinking (maybe failing at it), holiday festivities/decorating, watching It’s A Wonderful Life, Emotional Hurt/Holiday Comfort, etc.


• Once Donald realizes that he's in love with Michael, he can't unsee it. It complicates things, but he still shows up every Saturday.


• Another party. This time it's Donald that is the disaster and a sober Michael that tries to settle things down.


• Guys throw themselves at Donald everywhere they go. He used to like it until it started pushing Michael away. Now he has to dodge it and manage Michael's insecurities.


• Harold rents a cabin for the group for a friends trip. Where do they go? What are they doing? I don't know, but Michael and Donald end up having to share a bed.

No Escape Room (2018)
Karen, Michael

That ending had me O_O. How do they get out of there?? Do they get out of there? Honestly, I loved that they were trapped in the escape room (escape dimension?) and want to see what other creepy things happen in there. I like that they obviously have issues between them and love this horror room being a backdrop for them growing closer and overcoming that stuff to be a real team. How does this “escape room” work? Is it a different dimension? A spell? A portal to Hell? I’d love to see them protecting each other, more horror, or what slice-of-life day-to-day survival looks like for them if they end up stuck in there long-term or even forever.

Prompts:

• Christmas in the escape room place where mundane holiday things are warped to be creepy. Maybe finding a safe place to hunker down and finding some kind of small joy in there.


• Michael getting upset when Karen puts herself at risk to protect him.


• A new level of the escape room that is built into the woods. Does an invisible barrier keep them trapped, do the trees close in on them, something else?


• Becoming codependent, paranoid but competent survivors within the room.


• They find a way out. I’m interested in how they manage it or in fic that takes place after they get out and how the two of them process everything that happened to them in there. How would they move on? I assume they’d be much closer now from bonding over what happened. Angst, trauma, nightmares, unhealthy coping mechanisms, isolating themselves from others for not getting it, probably not even telling anyone else, that kind of thing.

Pricks and Pragmatism – J. L. Merrow
Luke Corbin, Russell Winchester

I love this short story! Russell is too adorable for words. He's so sweet and gentle and caring. I love his big heart and how he tends to startle and be patient and forgiving. Luke has dealt with so much from his first relationship being an abusive one to getting kicked out of the house by his father and eventually having to sleep with jerks to keep a roof over his head. I love the idea of him getting a happily ever after with someone as kind and loving as Russell. They make each other really happy, and that makes me happy. Something else I love about this canon is the setting and how close they are to the water. I love that imagery. I'm cool with first person like the book or third person POV, whichever you prefer.

Prompts:

• Any kind of Christmas fic: getting a tree, Christmas morning, Russell takes Luke home for Christmas and Luke meets his family, winter/coats/fireplace, baking cookies, holiday festivities/decorating, watching It’s A Wonderful Life, Emotional Hurt/Holiday Comfort, etc.


• A new neighbor is sweet on Russell. It's amusing to Luke at first but becomes less so the more overt he is about it. Russell can be flattered, nervous, or oblivious to his admirer. I just really love the idea of jealous Luke.


• Amnesia – Russell bumps his head and can't remember Luke. Pining Luke while he waits for his memory to come back and Russell's skittish around him or emotionally distant from him at first would be amazing.


• Guys throw themselves at Luke everywhere they go. It brings up Russell's insecurities about why a guy like Luke would stick with him but brings up Luke's insecurities that he's not boyfriending right if every dude thinks he can hit on him right in front of Russell. If he has to be more publicly possessive, so be it.

Sex and the City (TV)
Stanford Blatch, Anthony Marantino

The fact that these two ended up together still makes me laugh since their first meeting was such an epic, rude disaster. They clashed from go, and I’d love to see more of how they went from loathing each other to where they ended up. The falling in love stage for them fascinates and amuses me. I love when two characters bounce off of each other in epic ways but still somehow, some way over time start to see each other differently. More of them clashing, banter, or love at any stage of their relationship set during or after the show, please.

Note: I also love Stanford & Carrie’s friendship and would welcome any interaction there. I also love the other girls and wouldn’t mind the inclusion of Samantha, Charlotte, or Miranda. My other ships are: Carrie/Aidan, Samantha/Smith, Miranda/Steve, and Charlotte/Harry. You can mention/include any of them depending on when you want to set the fic. I’m totally fine with it.

DNW: Mr. Big

Prompts:

• Christmas in New York. Maybe the first time they start to fall for each other is during hectic Christmas shopping that starts with bickering.


• Five times Stanford and Anthony were annoyed to run into each other at fashion shows and one time they felt… something else.


• Firsts! Kiss, date, holding hands, night together, breakup + makeup, etc.


• Pre-Relationship. Another guy shows interest in Stanford. There’s no reason at all it should infuriate Anthony so much, but it really, really does.
