I participated in Whatever-You-Want-A-Thon in June, a readathon hosted on Booktube. I was in the Comrades of Chaos team because I knew I was going to read all over the place as far as genres. I'm too much of a mood reader to commit to one genre for a whole month, and I would have wanted to try if I'd gone with the Contemporary or Fantasy teams. I set a goal for eight books.

This was an inexplicable gift from my mother last year. I fell behind on Supernatural around season 10, I think, and don't ever talk about it so I can't explain why she thought to give this to me. lol This was an incredibly dry book. Toast tumbling through the desert dry. And repetitive. I should finish watching the show at some point, though.

What did I just read? LOL I don't think I've ever read a book that seemingly changed genres 90% of the way through. I thought this was going to be a straight thriller, but this book was goofy.

I guess that makes me an Acolyte. I almost made it to Mage. Not quite, but I made it one book over my pledge so woohoo. This was a lot of fun, and I think I'll definitely participate if it runs again next summer and I have the time. I liked the point system and the prompts and the reading sprints on YouTube. My favorite book of the readathon was Those Who Wish Me Dead. I didn't know it was a book until after I watched the movie. I usually read, then watch, but they were so different that it was still fun to absorb the story in reverse order this time.

With Camp starting tomorrow, it's time to switch my focus from reading to writing. Though, my writing may suffer during the week the Reading Rush runs. I can't resist a good readathon.
