I’m excited for this. Whether you pull from my general likes or like one of my prompts, I love surprises and look forward to reading what you come up with. Thank you so much for writing something for me!

Fic, 10K

Best friends to lovers is my favorite, and these two deliver the perfect foundation for it. I love how much they love each other, how much they laugh together, how much light Foggy brings to Matt’s often dark and complicated life. I love Matt being protective, his faith and moral compass. I love Foggy’s competence and integrity, their friendship with Karen, and all of them working together at Nelson, Murdock and Page. Feel free to set this whenever, back in their school days, post-season one, post-canon, all good.

Prompts:

• Something is going on with Foggy: insomnia, no appetite, making silly mistakes or getting into small but worrying accidents, that kind of thing. And Matt only goes from concerned to Deeply Concerned the longer it goes on, especially since Foggy doesn’t usually keep things from him. Is Foggy okay? Matt and I need to know.


• Foggy starts dating Brett, and Matt really, really (really) doesn’t like it. I’m fond of love triangles and all the pining and jealousy and no, but pick me that comes with it. As long as it’s resolved with Foggy choosing Matt (Brett might even catch on to Matt’s deal before Foggy), feel free to torture Matt as much as possible. I’ll love it.


• Feelings realization while on a plane that’s going to crash. A crisis that Matt can’t fight. The whole fic takes place on the flight? Cool. The plane actually successfully lands? Also, cool. The plane legit crashes, and it becomes wilderness survival? Also also, cool.


• Unhappy Ending/Extreme Emotional Torture of Matt - Foggy goes missing and is never found. Ever. I want to see Matt spiral past determination into desperation and eventually despair. Maybe Karen pushes forward and the world keeps spinning, but Matt can’t recover from the loss and the not knowing. Inclusion of Foggy’s family is super welcome! Pining, depression, guilt, hopelessness, flashbacks to them being together (pre-ship pining that can never be resolved now or established relationship are both fine): all good!


• Fusion with Ghost (1990). Matt sticking around after dying to save Foggy one more time. Their goodbye scene when it’s time for Matt to go to Heaven: *grabby hands*.


• Nelson, Murdock and Page lose a case, and it sparks an argument about whose fault it was. Things are said that neither means, and there is woe and pining to make up and awkwardness. And maybe missing their friend that much nudges them to realize that they’re not just friends and maybe they never were.


• You know that trope where someone is forced to watch a loved one get killed, and it’s totally hopeless and desperate and horrifying/heartbreaking? I’d like all of that (Matt thinking he’s going to have to watch Foggy be murdered (by Fisk? Some other bad guy?) and losing his mind about it, but with a happy ending. So, like, circumstances change that allow him to save Foggy at the last second. I’m totally fine with Foggy being seriously physically hurt, and you can emotionally torture Matt towards an early grave: green light to all of that.


• Adjacent to the things I like about the above. Matt answers the phone and hears Foggy being attacked and screaming for him.


• AU - Foggy is a hooker and is surprised when his new client doesn’t want sex; just keeps calling him over to patch up mysterious injuries. Please no sex while Matt is a client. Mostly, what I want from this prompt is the two of them trying not to fall in love because they’re not supposed to (failing) and resisting their attraction. Bonus if the stress of being in love with Matt when he doesn’t want to have sex, let alone date him (or so he thinks!), makes Foggy suddenly quit without explanation, because Emotionally Distressed Matt is the best Matt. But a happy ending for this one, please!


• Established Relationship/Breakup + Makeup - AU where Matt and Foggy have been together since law school, got married, and everything is good until Matt takes up being Daredevil and Foggy becomes convinced all the sneaking out at night means he’s cheating on him. Angst, please!


• Alternate First Meeting - Karen introduces Foggy to her new friend, Matt. It goes really well and terribly. On the one hand, Matt nearly falls for Foggy on the spot. On the other, Foggy can’t stand the guy. Every time they see each other, Matt falls harder and Foggy likes him less. It’s hard to believe Matt will be able to win him over, but he’s always been a man of faith.

Haven (TV)
Duke Crocker/Nathan Wuornos
Fic, 10K

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite relationship dynamics, and this ship has that, plus some elements of enemies to lovers because of all the history between them. I love that they’ve known each other their whole lives and that they’ve been something different to each other at different points in their long relationship. I would prefer Duke to be alive, please. Totally up to you whether you set it earlier in the series, pre-series, or just pretend like his death never happened. I love their banter, the conflict between them, and the love that exists through all of that.

Prompts:

• Time Loop - Both Nathan and Duke are stuck inside of it and are driving each other nuts but figuring stuff out, growing into true partners, goofing off, and finding a way out together. What if the solution seems to be leaving one of them in the loop forever? How would the other react?


• Duke is in danger of getting swept off his feet by someone else (I’d prefer a dude), and Nathan has Big Feelings about this. Not good ones. I’d rather the other guy didn’t turn out to be evil. I don’t want it to be easy for Nathan. haha


• Touch. Often. Casual. Noticed by others. Comfort or joking around. Arms around the shoulders, talking too closely, leaning against each other, hand pats that kind of linger. Any and all touching before they sort themselves out is fun.


• Established Relationship/Amnesia - It took a long time for them to admit their feelings, settle down together, and be happy. So when a Trouble attacks true love and wipes out the memory of one half of every couple, leaving Duke with no memory of Nathan at all, it really, really sucks for him. Emotionally torture dear Nathan, please. Memories returning by the end is preferred, even if it’s just one line insinuating that they’re starting to come back. I love the amnesia trope and all of the complicated stuff it stirs up as long as it comes with a happy ending.


• A Trouble that brings people’s favorite scary movie to life and makes it attack them. Horror movies I love: Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho, Child’s Play, Friday the 13th, Scream, Jaws. Throwing any of those villains against Duke/Nathan would be awesome.


• Fusion with Predator. Maybe they mistake the first dead body as the work of the Troubles, but alien horror ensues. I’m fine with character death(s) of unrequested characters, injuries, gore, and strong violence.


• First Kiss. I love when this happens as a joke/dare/part of a game/undercover situation, etc. and it kicks off feelings or makes it difficult to continue ignoring feelings that have been suppressed but intense for a long time. (If you wanted it to be their first kiss as adults but not in their lifetime, I’m fine with the idea that they were together back when they were teens. Up to you.)


• Duke has a tendency to rest his hand on Nathan’s waist when they’re talking. Nathan has a tendency to lean into that touch and closer to Duke. Neither has the tendency to realize how that looks to others, how often they do it, or why they do it without thinking. Nathan can’t feel it, so he must see Duke touching him and at least subconsciously allow and respond to that touch, right? How does their behavior change/evolve if someone points it out?


• Nathan and Duke accidentally fall asleep slumped against each other. Whoops, lol. It happens again with more touching. Whoops, no big deal. It becomes a thing they start doing ‘accidentally’ on purpose, and the longer it goes on, the more complicated their feelings/confusion becomes. Idiots in love being too gun-shy about their history to address the elephant in the room. It can’t blow up in their faces if it’s all a bunch of accidents, right?


• Amputation - Duke loses a leg as a direct result of either something Nathan did or something he did to help Nathan. Duke doesn’t seem to hold it against him at all, which only makes Nathan irrationally angry, extremely guilty, drives him a little bit crazy and a lot in love.


• Duke being surprised but not as surprised as Nathan is when Nathan goes off on someone for making a snide remark about Duke.

Justified
Rachel Brooks/Tim Gutterson
Fic, 10K or two 5K

I love how competent and levelheaded these two are. The respect that Rachel inspires and Tim’s dry sense of humor. I love them having each other’s backs, having a strong moral compass, supporting each other, and being a good team. If you want to set it before Rachel’s divorce, you can just ignore her canon marriage since I’d prefer no infidelity. I love internal conflict as well as external, so angst or any sign of Tim struggling with his military experience or Rachel going through a rough patch with grief for her sister are very welcome, as is joy in all forms: subtle, goofing around, fake fights, banter, simple touches that matter, Rachel and Tim vs. Raylan’s nonsense or Art’s patience, trust.

Prompts:

• Bad guy gets a bomb vest with a countdown on Rachel, and Tim refuses to leave her even after everyone is ordered to get out/back off.


• Rachel or Tim has to qualify for fieldwork after an injury, and the other trains with them in preparation for the physical exam. And whoops, they fall in love.


• A horror story. I love horror and eeriness and things that are slightly wrong and don’t feel quite right. I’m okay with violence, gore, character death(s) (except requested characters) and am also a fan of scary stories where none of that happens but there’s a creepy mood or uncanny situation that’s unnerving/unsettling. Happy, unhappy, and ambiguous endings are all good.


• They’re both so competent and strong. I’d love to explore a scenario where one of them faces a phobia and the other has to help/be supportive. Maybe a case leads them through a mine, and it turns out Rachel is claustrophobic, freezes/can’t make it through a narrow shaft, and Tim notices. Or they get caught in a flash flood, and it turns out Tim can’t swim, is afraid of the water, and oh no, the car they’re in is filling with water. Rachel gets him through it. Something like that.


• Hurt/Comfort + Stranded - During a confrontation with a bad guy, one of them is shot or stabbed and in serious danger of bleeding out, but circumstances prevent them from calling for help or escaping right away.


• AU where they’ve been together since the academy. They’re just really, really good at hiding it. Not even Raylan catches on. Until Rachel is hurt/put in reckless danger/fired, and Tim gives the game away when he loses it in reaction.


• Tim (and Raylan or Art?) hear Rachel being attacked over the walkie, and Tim has to be pulled off the guy attacking her when they reach them.


• A sexist officer helping them on a case is awful to Rachel throughout, and Tim takes it for as long as he can at Rachel’s instruction. But everybody has their limits, and Tim reaches his.


• Tim is framed for murder. This pisses Rachel off. A lot.


• Losing or not having their weapons and being pursued by backwoods people in Harlan.


• Get-together or slow burn fic of any kind.

The Avengers (Marvel Movies)
Phil Coulson/Nick Fury
Fic, 10K

These two kicking butt and taking names on one hand and either falling or being in love on the other is such a happy balance for me. I love them working well together with their different ranks while on the job but also being partners at the same time, depending on and caring for each other with a foundation of mutual respect. They worked together for so long. There’s so much potential for mutual pining, a quiet kind of shared happiness, and maturity between them that would be a relief from the drama of their jobs. I love Coulson using ‘boss’ as a term of endearment, and Fury being protective of him. Feel free to set it whenever along their long careers, when they’re much younger right up to the present, I’m here for any of it.

Prompts:

• Sick of the demands as director of SHIELD, Fury wishes he’d done something different with his life… and wakes up in a totally different one: blue collar job, small house in the country… and married to Phil Coulson. How does he get back? And the more time he spends in this road not taken, does he even want to?


• A moment of incompetence in an otherwise hyper competent career that has terrible consequences for civilians. One is hard on himself + how the other reacts.


• Zombie AU - Bites, amputations to prevent infection after being bitten, an Us vs. Them (them, being zombies or other people in the apocalypse) mentality, having to watch someone (a loved one or stranger, okay with anyone but requested characters) getting eaten alive, the mistaken horror of thinking a loved one got swarmed and killed. Especially interested in the emotional stakes of trying to survive and the protectiveness.


• Anything Captain Marvel era!


• Retirement… gone wrong. They go on a cruise to try to be normal retired people, and: the ship is hijacked, the ship sinks, someone goes overboard and they’re dragged into a murder/mystery. Something goes sideways, and they get caught up in it.


• Something that takes place primarily outdoors. Hunting a fugitive through creepy woods? Stranded in the desert with no signal? Plane crash in the mountains? Camping? Why are they camping?


• Coulson scores low during target practice, and Fury investigates. Having something on his mind isn’t an excuse to be off his game. Even if Fury is that thing on his mind.


• This mission will take at least two months, and hell, there’s only one bed.


• Fury is missing and so is the fugitive he was after. The only clues are tracks in the snow and blood in his boot prints. Coulson does not panic. On the outside.
