Sunshine Challenge #3

Prompt #3: Bluebell: constancy, gratitude and everlasting love.
I’ve been rewatching Forever lately, and the love story between Henry and Abigail is a great example of both constancy and love that goes the distance. There is something both sweet and tragic about an immortal character finding that one person they love more than anyone and having a go at a normal life. There’s a part in the pilot where they meet for the first time, and she’s holding Abe. I was just talking to someone about how Fate balanced out all of the horrible things that happened to him up to that point by introducing him, in one perfect moment, to the two people he would love most in his very long life, his wife and his son.
The mystery shenanigans and watching him Sherlock his way through episodes are a lot of fun, but the heart of the show and the story to me is his love and devotion to his family. All of the flashbacks from the '40s to the '80s, chronicling his life, his one big love, and Abe’s childhood have so much warmth and sadness and, through it all, joy. I’d definitely say that Henry and Abigail had a bluebell kind of love story.
